TERESA LASHMET, the first woman officer in Miami is an all rounder !
THIRTY years on and Teresa Lashmet’s leadership in the MIAMI police department has made the neighborhood safer. Her family is steeped in law enforcement and that is where her roots and inspiration comes from. Her uncle and cousin were in the Missouri Highway Patrol. It is through their encouragement that she honed her skills and became the first female in the law enforcement in the family also. Also, she is the first woman MIAMI police officer. Her achievements are completing the Missouri Police Academy in 2010 and also going through 16 weeks of CLEET (Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training.) HOW DID SHE do this! She applied everywhere in Missouri and heard about the job. She also applied to Aurora, Vernon County, Carl Junction, and so many other places. And all along guys were hired!
